Tournaments

Each tournament keeps its own players, rounds and scores in this browser. Start a new one and the one you leave is saved as it is. A tournament runs in one tab at a time.

MEN

Drag ⋮⋮ onto a name to swap two players, or onto empty space in a column to move one across: the column is the side a player partners from. Tap the rating to change it (0.5 to 7.0). Tap the letter to change it: F woman, M man, C coach (coaches can't win and never play with another coach). An odd number is fine: one player sits out each round, shared fairly. Tap Zz on a player (a coach, a sparring partner): once, they sit out more often; twice, they sit out first whenever somebody has to. In a round, Choose who sits out lets you pick the names yourself.

One file: a row for every player in every match, with the scores, plus each player's final rank and whether they are in the top 3 of women or men.

How the draw works
  • Teams are one player from each column. When one column is bigger, the extra players pair up inside their column. Women only teams are avoided before men only teams.
  • Only the coach rule is absolute. The rest are strong preferences: a round that cannot satisfy all of them gives up the lowest one first.
  • Importance, highest first: no coach with coach, no repeated partner, mixed teams, the round's own rule for teams, then for matches, then no repeated opponents. In the last round, players of a very similar rating are put against each other where the rules above allow it.
  • Repeats can only show up once there are no fresh partners or opponents left. They are kept to the fewest possible.
  • Reshuffle redraws one round. A round with scores in it is kept as it is when you change a rating, add a player or change another round.
  • The leaderboard ranks by wins first, then by points scored minus points conceded.
