Adopt a School

More than a court to borrow.

BVA is building a year-round volleyball programme for a Bali school. Weekly coaching at the school, monthly beach sessions at the academy, a full season of competition, and the equipment to make it work.

Bali is full of kids who want to play and have nowhere to do it properly. This is how we change that: real coaching every week, real kit, a real league, and a day on the sand at BVA every month.

Where this stands today. We are in discussion with Let's Keep The Ball Flying, a Dutch foundation, about becoming their Bali hub. Nothing is signed yet, no school has been chosen and no club has committed. This page is here to find the people who want to build it with us.

How it works

A club adopts a school

An international volleyball club commits to one Bali school for a year, through the Let's Keep The Ball Flying foundation.

BVA runs it on the ground

Our coaches train at the school every week and host the squad on the sand once a month.

Everything is accounted for

Every player named, every session logged, every expense receipted, reported monthly.

Why Bali is different

The foundation runs hubs in several countries. Most of them send equipment and money to a school. Bali would be the only one attached to a working academy.

  • The school gets an academy, not a delivery. Three covered courts running seven days a week, with coaching, leagues, camps and a cafe already alive. The school programme plugs into something that exists.
  • Indoor at the school, beach at BVA. A BVA coach goes to the school every week. Once a month the whole squad comes to the academy and plays on sand. For most of these kids it is the first time.
  • A named person is accountable. A BVA coach leads a session each week and supervises the school's PE teacher on the second. Nobody is left to run it alone.

What a year costs, and what it buys

A sponsoring club commits USD 5,000 a year for one school. The foundation retains USD 1,000. USD 4,000 comes to the hub, restricted to that school and receipted, paid quarterly once the monthly reports are accepted. BVA keeps none of it. It is all programme spend.

24players in the squad
USD 167per player, per year
80training sessions
12beach days at BVA
24branded shirts
1league and a festival day

Twenty-four is the squad a coach can actually train twice a week and take to a league. Every player gets a shirt with the school, BVA and the sponsoring club's name on it.

Where the USD 4,000 goes, indicative:

Equipment and kit33%
Beach days and transport21%
Coaching20%
League and tournament17%
Court repair at the school9%

On top of that BVA gives roughly USD 900 a year per school in court time and coaching supervision, and does not bill it to the programme. We intend to start with one school and prove it works before adding a second.

If you are a club

Your club's name goes on the shirt of twenty-four kids in Bali for a year, alongside BVA's and the school's. You get footage you can actually use, numbers you can stand behind, and a standing invitation for any of your members passing through to train with them. You do no operational work.

If you are a school

If you are a school near Kerobokan with kids who want to play volleyball and not enough to play with, we would like to hear from you. A court helps but is not essential. What matters is a teacher who cares and a group of kids who show up.

What we look for: a primary or secondary school reasonably close to Kerobokan, at least one teacher or coach who is genuinely committed, a real group of kids who want to play, boys and girls, a contact person to work with, and support from the school leadership. Training can be indoor, beach, or both.

If you are a coach or a volunteer

We are looking for coaches and people who know the schools around Kerobokan. If that is you, get in touch.

Leave your details and a person will come back to you. No forms after this one.

A club's details are passed to Let's Keep The Ball Flying, who hold the agreement with the sponsoring club. A school's, a coach's or anyone else's stay with BVA and are used only to reply to you. Nothing else is done with them either way.

BVA does not collect or handle any sponsorship payments. Funding is arranged between the sponsoring club and Let's Keep The Ball Flying, and reaches the programme restricted to one named school and receipted.
